REHASWISS Project

Overview

Overview

The REHASWISS Project is a long-running initiative by PEACE (People’s Action for Creative Education) in partnership with REHASWISS, Switzerland, focused on empowering the physically challenged and other differently-abled individuals through self-help promotion, livelihood training, and microcredit-based support systems.

Launched in 1994, this pioneering program has created pathways to self-reliance for thousands of disabled individuals in Jagdevpur Mandal of Siddipet District, Telangana, and adjoining rural regions. The project addresses both economic vulnerability and social exclusion, aiming to ensure that disabled individuals are not left behind in rural development.

Why This Project Matters

Persons with disabilities in rural India often face a double disadvantage — physical limitations and systemic neglect in access to livelihood, education, and finance. The REHASWISS Project by PEACE addresses these gaps with dignified solutions, empowering the differently-abled to live independently, earn sustainably, and participate fully in community life.

By fostering entrepreneurship, strengthening support systems, and building inclusive infrastructure, the REHASWISS Project reflects PEACE’s long-standing commitment to equity, empowerment, and justice for all.
